Virtual 4u, came to me because I wanted to use virtual in the name for the search engines. Creativity is something I am working on! :-)

'Savvy' is a play on my last name, Savard, and is also my husband's call-sign from when he was a military pilot. The word 'savvy' also means knowledge and ability, so it is a good fit for what I am doing.

I used Executive, as that is who I want to cater to in providing support.

I liked Solutions, as it is a very positive word and gives the feeling of having someone who can make a difference to a busy executive.

So, there you have it: Savvy Executive Solutions!

It was very easy to come up with Circle Assistants, though it's funny how it worked out. I love Celtic knotwork and am part-Scottish, so I thought if I did this I would want somehow incorporate some knotwork into my logo. A clear, basic design is a shield knot, which ends up looking like a circle.

Assisting is what my company is about. I want to help others reach their goals to the best of my abilities.

Hence, Circle Assistants - where we help round out your business! (the catchphrase is what solidified the name for me!)

Interco is short for intercompany.

In accounting an intercompany transaction is an activity that happens between different company's within the same organization. That's how I want to portray my business. As one that considers itself as part of the bigger organization and therefore has a vested interest in it's success.

Tess,
Choosing my business name was relatively easy. It's a tribute to Money Penny, made famous in the James Bond movies. Money Penny, was the original Girl Everything, including Friday. LOL!!!

I went round and round on my business name. Everyone kept telling me to use my name, which I didn't want to do. Personally I felt that people would associate it with a one man shop. The word distinction popped up. I asked several people what came to mind when the heard that word and got a variety of answers - most right in line with what distinction is supposed to mean -

1. difference - a difference between things or recognition of a difference

2. high quality - excellence in quality or talent

3. something to be proud of - something done or given as a mark of respect or honor

4. distinguishing feature - a feature or quality that characterizes or singles out somebody or something

5. mark of high achievement - education recognition of high achievement

I threw a little twist with the name by spelling it D'Stinction to have a play on my initials DS. I have had a lot of positive reactions to it so far.

Mine "FlashVA" came to me pretty quickly as I wanted the name to reflect quickness and it was available as a .com, which made it even better!. Then the best part came when I realized I could make it stand for something great:
"Full Line of Admin Services Home-based Virtual Asst" so it all kind of fell in place, surprisingly.

I had a problem with the "H" - "home-based" part, but couldn't really find another "H" word to fit in there. If anyone has any ideas? Although using "home-based" does let the client know I'm not coming to their home or office.

I really wanted my business name to compliment my experience working in the business sector so I would not be considered a novice. However, the words "Professional Virtual Assistant" are just to much to remember, let alone ask someone to listen to before they get help. I was happy with the acronym, PRO-VA, but it looked like a rally statement or call to vote; and, it is a name several non virtual assistant businesses. I still liked the name PRO VA and how it would sound when answering the phone. To me, those letters can only be pronounced one way but to add clarity and keyword to a search for business I concluded PROVA followed by the words "Administrative Services" would define my business, be a good segue in advertising, marketing and landing clients.

I finally posted something on Facebook for all of my friends to help me. I had some names come in but none of them really jumped out at me. Then a friend that I had made that day made a suggestion and the name just jumped out at me. I'm not good at the name thing or the tag line thing! Still working on a tag line if you all have any ideas!

Wow, These are all great stories, I am at that point where I have many ideas bouncing around in my head. I came up with one today that I really think I'm going to
like but I must give it a few days to make sure it sticks.
