Default HELP with Naming
Hi,

I throw myself on the mercy of you all!

I have been trying for months to come up with a name..then it hit me.
I wanted to go with task assasin and I had a real cute website concept.

Then I actually looked in the dictionary and of course the term "assasin" well its not very friendly!

So now I am back to the drawing board. I will be specializing in web site development, assisting small business owners with administrative needs and some personal assistant services.

My family name is Handy so I would love to incorporate that in the name I just don't know how to come up with something cute and catchy.

Anyone ready to take pitty on me?

I promise to adore you forever!

Hello,

I personally don't think that the use of assassin is negative if used for a business name. I think the use of Assassin is rather clever. If used with the right logo and a clear tagline, I believe that name would be an effective VA business name.

You would be able to 'take down' office projects for clients and 'wipe them out'.

I would reconsider 'assassin'.

The word I have reservations about is 'task' because I think it limits the description of the work you may do to just 'tasks' instead of long-term projects or ongoing virtual support.

Handy is another option as well but it reminds less of an administrative position and more like a 'handy man' connotation.

Good Luck!

Janine

Administrative Assassin - I provide an administrative take down for your business....

Might be a little harsh, but something along those lines could work, depends what kind of message you want to portray.

This is me thinking off the top of my head, but I too don't see anything wrong with the word assassin. It's clear, focused and with the right marketing message be very effective.

Think Spam Assassin - you immediately know what it's about.....

I'm not really sure if Administrative is the right word, but something along those lines might work.

I agree with Janine, Handy could easily be incorporated into a "handy man" type business.

I too like assasin, but with a name like Handy, it's sort of logo ready. I am picturing a giant hand in the background with your business name across the palm. lol. Mickey Mouse has "handy helpers". Something along those lines. It was immediately what came to mind when you said Handy.

I like the assassin idea. Brings to mind that old TV show "The Avengers", Emma Peel, silhouette with a gun on a background of paper mess or something. Wow, now you've got my imagination in overdrive, it's only 7 am, the dogs are waiting to go for their run and I've not had my second cup of coffee yet!

I could hardly sleep last night thinking about it. Especially after I found some really cute ninja girls to work into the logo.

Now I just have to come up with the official name... Administrative Assasins or...
Virtual Assasins, Executive, Clutter Assassins..that is now the hard part.

I like the assassin idea, too. Couple that with the ninja chicas & you could have something very memorable & catchy. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

BTW, here is the site of a fellow VAFer who has a somewhat similar theme. He has some very clever service package names. Office Liberation Services

Good luck & post back when that great logo is finished!

When I don't agree with the crowd, I should just say "Hmmm" to myself, and carry on but I just can't help it because I think your instinct is right, and Assassin is a more negative than positive word, and I thought of a cool alternate, maybe ... Is Admin Avatar taken?
