A friend of mine needs help with her business name, something I think so many of us have struggled with! She was going to join VAF but when she read it was suggested to sign up with a business name, she asked me to post this! I know you can sign up with just a personal name, but I think she wanted to wait and sign up when she has the business name. (She isn't very familiar with forums and how they work either.)

She will be a daily money manager, basically handling the daily financial details for people like paying bills, budgeting, reconciling bank statements, etc. Her target audience would include seniors, travelers, trust officers, folks who just don't want to do it themselves, etc.

It's home office based, of course, and right now the work would be local, but it's possible in the future she may add something that could be handled totally virtual.

So far she has narrowed it down to:

Personal Financial Care
Personal Money Manager
Everyday Money Matters

She, of course, needs to sound professional, competent, trustworthy, etc. She doesn't want anything "cute."

Any thoughts or advice would be extremely appreciated!! (I am not good at coming up with business names, unfortunately!)

Of the choices listed, I like Everyday Money Matters as well.

I would just add this though - you might want to advise your friend not to rush this kind of decision simply for the sake of registering on a forum. Ask her to give some consideration to registering with her own name or some other username and taking the time to really develop a company name she likes and that truly resonates for her.

I too like Everyday Money Matters. The other two sound more like investment or financial consulting services.

I am also curious to see what type of demand she gets for her services. Please do tell her to be sure to get bonded and have at the very least E&O insurance since she will be working with others finances.

Thanks everyone! She was leaning towards Everyday Money Matters as well, but she's been through so many names in the last couple of weeks I think it's about to pull her hair out!
