Default Help with business name
I continue to see a large amount of support to the new VA's on this forum so was hoping someone could help me. I am really at a loss on the business name. I promote myself as a former EA and Senior CSR, have worked as an Insurance Agent for 6 years. I am a wiz at Excel and Access and done a lot of meeting organization/travel/expense report work as well. I have some light accounting background and some I.T. background (liason between IT and operations for 5 years) and am about 75% bilingual in Spanish. I've decided that i don't think there is a "target market" in the sense that I only want to work with Insurance agents or Real Estate or the such. Just general business owners who need help. My name is Amanda Bearden and I live in Missouri. any suggestions? I have just hit a wall and can't think of anything..... THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Picking a name for your business is really very personal in my opinion. No one can tell you what to call your business. But there are a few ways you can come up with a name. Get a small pad of paper and pencil and keep it with you at all times. When you think of something, write it down. Then add words to it to see if you can connect something into a name you like. If you go to Godaddy.com and punch in some of these names, they will tell you if it is a name that has an open domain. They will also give you a few other suggestions. You might want to start with your last name. Decide if you want the word virtual in your name. If you have a niche of some sort, which you should, you might want to include that. Again, it is hard for someone else to pick a name for you. Just start writing things down and something will come to you. Good luck!

What about the AB Company? Since you are offering such a range of different services you would want to keep it pretty general.

Hi Amanda
Coming up with an business name can be easy for some, and a dilemma for others. My suggestion is to take your time, write key words down on a piece of paper and try to come up with a name from those words. Your key words could relate to your name, location, services you are offering etc. You could also research other VA business names to get some ideas.

I really struggled with mine as the types of names I originally had in mind were already being used.

Good luck.

Im still struggling with mine and I didnt even think about domains. So, I will check to see if I can use what I have came up with so far. My plan was to use the initials of my childrens name but I will have to see if that will fly.

This is why I love this sight. I learn something new everyday.

Have to agree ... this is a personal decision. If you take your time, you'll be glad you did. Seriously, it took me awhile to come up with my business name, and I'm not a bit sorry I took time coming up with one.
