Check Out My Logo!
OK, I had a logo designed and for better or worse, this is it. It is difficult in the avatar to see what it says under Virtuality, but the strap line is "Managing Your Business Needs Remotely".
Could you all tell me what you think? I had a really hard time with this and not sure I like what we came up with but as I was paying hourly, I had to stop tweaking and second guessing! Virtuality as a word does not seem to lend itself to obvious cool clip art or photos. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Kathy

Re: Check Out My Logo!
'Virtuality' is the name of a sci-fi tv show, an art studio, and a business machines company (who hold the .com website). Have you considered other biz names?
The way my mind works I visualize a cartoon style or ink drawing 'office' picture for a logo. Although, the clean lines of your logo are very nice...

Re: Check Out My Logo!
Lily,
I think I am kind of committed now because I have paid money for the logo and registered my domain name. I went with virtuality-works.com. It's my brand now and I should love it more than I do. The haste was caused by a unexpected meeting where I felt like I had to present myself as established with a business card and website, etc. So I just went with it. Now I am not changing until I see if I can actually make any money at this lol. The website is overwhelming me right now as far as just finding a way to communicate to someone what I want it to look like - and I am not a design person so you can imagine how that is going. I really, really wish I would have started this a year ago when I had about $20K in the bank, now I am broke and while I believe I can do the actual work that will come my way, presenting a presence that makes people want to hire me is not something I am comfortable with. I guess my starting point is the logo and now I have to design around that... I am using a friend of my daughters who is going to do this very cheaply. He is a graphic designer by trade but the websites I have seen (his personal ones) are all pretty weird and gothic. SO I am trying to have faith that he can do something along a more professional line, lol.

Re: Check Out My Logo!
Hi Cat
First, let me say, I like your logo. It is clear, clean lines and fresh. But, if you are not happy with it now, you will not be happy with it later. That I know for a fact as I have changed mine 3 times lol. I always have the 3 heads but I changed the background and coloring.
Be happy with it now rather than changing it later. You do not want to have to explain to a client later on that you changed it because you didn't like it to begin with.
To your success!
Andrea~

Hi, Cat. I know how you feel. I used the first name that came to my head because I had used it before in my bookkeeping business and it has my daughters' initials in it. But, I am wishing I had something more professional as well. DSA just does not put out there what I am trying to project. My website is done and I have the domain name, but I am definitely thinking about a new one....
BTW - I like your logo. It is clean and looks professional.

Re: Check Out My Logo!
Hi Cathy,
I like your logo, it looks very professional and clean. I will say like some of the others already have, if YOU don't like it, then change it now to something that you love. We can say for days how much we like it, but its your logo and business, you have to love it! Best of luck to you

Re: Check Out My Logo!
I for one like it very much. It is precise, clean lines, and pertrays the virtuality well. It reminds me of a button...one push of a button..that's all. LOL! Or a beacon...Calling all businesses...Lol. I think it's great but like the others say, if you don't like it now, then it is better to get it right in the begining. I went through h.e.l.l. and back trying to get mine and like you kept second guessing myself. Try not to look to hard at things. Maybe take a day or so and just step back and clear your head. Then look at it again and see if it works for you. Hope you get in all straight. Keep your head up! Your doing great!

Re: Check Out My Logo!
Thanks, actually the concept of the blue lines is kind of like the RSS symbol radiating off the globe. The actual 45 degree angle one did not look right but as we started dragging it down we started liking it more.
