Default business name, virtual and domain name?
Hi ladies,

The name of my business is Kim Beckers Services which is my name, my website is KimBeckersServices.com I am wondering if I should also purchase a domain for KimBeckersVirtualAssistance or KimsVirtualOffice?

What do you think? How important is it to have virtual in my domain?

I look forward to your opinions.

Thanks,
Kim

I've heard conflicting opinions. If you can afford it and just point it to the same site, then why not. I'd probably go with KimBeckersVirtualServices.com if you can.

Re: business name, virtual and domain name?
I am in the process of setting up a web site and have not registered my domain yet.

I did not even think of adding "virtual" to the name. But it does make sense to add it in somewhere. So for me back to the drawing board!!!

Thank you for the advice

Good point Sue,
I have already started promoting my site as kimbeckersservices.com should I use that as my domain name for advertisment or kimbeckersvirtualservices.com to promote the business.
For SEO and ranking reasons I really only want to choose one domain to promote.
I also have kimbeckers.com because I thought it would be easier to convey over the phone.

I look forward to your opinions.

Thanks for your help.
Kim

I think you can have multiple domain names but promote only one for SEO. A domin name costs about $10 or less to register and you can redirect it to your website for free, so it may be worth doing.

I think keeping it simple is the best. I have ended up with a rather long domain name and it is a bit of a pain. also I think the more continuity you can have between all aspects of your business the better. Just direct the domain with the word "virtual" in it to your actual website.

Registering is usually pretty cheap. I got both of mine w/godaddy for $38 for 2 years.

Virtual and Assistant is a must somewhere in your domain. Your choice of domain keywords make all the difference for search engine optimization. Another tip, when you design your web site make the links keyword enriched. For example, instead of having "Articles" for a link use "Virtual-Assistant-Articles" It adds important keywords to your content.
