My Grand Inspiration
Posted 06-25-2009 at 08:17 AM by Virtually Assisting You

My Grand Inspiration is probably really difficult for anyone to see, so I'm going to try my best to walk you through it.
I know, I know you all are thinking oh great another post about her boys. Well, hold your horses. Even though my boys are the biggest inspiration in my life I have a few others I would like to mention as well.
Ok, look past those cute little boys on that tractor and you'll see some trees in the background. In the center of those trees is an open spot - You see it? That is where we will one day build our dream home. When I look at this particular spot I don't see emptyness. I see a big two story log siding house with a huge inviting front porch nestled back in those trees. This log siding home has maroon shutters and cobblestone trim on the corners. Don't forget about the two trendy dormer windows up on top that gives off so much character, while allowing sunlight to shine through. The front porch is the same length of the house with railing and a big inviting entry way with a few steps. As you make your way up the cobblestone walkway you'll notice several old wooden rocking chairs placed there with ferns hanging ever little bit with small American flags sticking out of the hanging baskets. The front door is always open with a great view of the staircase that leads upstairs. You'll always find a serving tray with a pitcher of ice cold lemonade(well actually these days it's kool-aid - boys request ;)). Would you like a glass of lemonade, while we rock on the porch with a nice country breeze, catch up with each others lives and let the children play?
This is truly what I see. If I need a touch of inspiration, I take a little walk back to this field! Just this morning while walking my daily 5 miles down our chat lane, there was 3 Whitetail deer standing in what will be my front yard.
This is one of my most prized inspirations. And one of the reasons I keep plugging along with my Virtual Assistant business. Although, my family are my true inspiration, them and this dream home of ours is the reason I work my business the best I can to the best of my knowledge. One of these days we'll build this house, because of all the hard work I've put into making my Virtual Assistant business successful. Can you see it now? :)

Yes, that's our tractor! That tractor is a very special piece of equipment to us. We have another tractor and other equipment, but that paticular tractor has a story behind it. This could be a blog post in itself. lol
Here's why: That tractor was the first "big" purchase my husband and I made together after we got married. Let's see, July 4th that will be 13 years we've been married. Coming in from the hayfield one day about two months before I was actually due with our second son. My husband said "we got to figure out what we're going to name this kid". I knew I wanted his middle name to be River because that is my Dad's middle name and My Grandfather's first name. I looked up at the tractor and saw Hesston(brand of tractor) wrote on it in big bold letters. I said what about 'Heston River Roth' - and that's how he got his named. So now when he introduces himself he says "My name is Heston River Roth - I'm named after my PaPa Kenny and my dads tractor" ![]() |

Kena, I think you might have a whole book in you waiting to be written. I'm not kidding.
Your farm, and your family, sound like a lot of fun - I hope I get the chance to visit some day [**hint, hint**], lemonade or not ![]() |

Kena - your details are very vivid - that is how we all need to visualize our goals and dreams. I'm thinking of sending mine your way to re-write for me! :-) Just kidding. In all seriousness, you will make your dream a reality because you have visualized the details.
Hats off to you! |
