Grant Writing Basics

This informational chat will help participants with locating grants that are the right fit for your organization as well as the information you’ll need to create your proposal. We will also briefly discuss the sections of a grant proposal.
After this presentation, participants will be able to:
-Locate websites where request for proposals (RFP’s) for grant writing can be found.
-Identify the information that should be included in each section of a grant proposal.

Special guest, Cathryn T. Branch, President of Attentive Assistance is also an instructor at the Academy of Virtual Entrepreneurs (AOVE.org) where she teaches Grant Writing 101-104. Cathryn received her bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Cathryn has worked in several industries including corporate, higher education and county government and has 10 years of experience in office administration with specific expertise in budget and grant management.

While completing her master’s degree Ms. Branch realized the importance of grant writing and the opportunities that could be made available to community organizations providing resources. Grant writing is an extremely rewarding skill, not only for the grant writer; but, specifically for the resources that it gets to the people that need it most.

Two lucky chat participants will each receive a $25 gift certificate toward registration fees for any AOVE class. Two additional participants will receive a thirty minute mentoring session each with an established VA.
