Internet Scams On The Rise Again

Each day I am seeing internet scams with new twists and turns, but it’s always an old scam if you look and dig deep enough but with a new twist..

While working as a Law Enforcement officer, I became aware of Internet Scams, One day while working the complaint receiving desk, I received a call from an individual from Hawaii. He’d purchased a desk top computer online from an individual who lived in Brooklyn, New York. The purchased was made three months prior to the phone call. I explained to the individual that Brooklyn was a big Borough and I would need an address. Well needless to say the individual give me a non existing address and if memory serves me well, no traceable landline phone number.

What I Have Learnt

I have learnt, my clients now are the best. They’re professional and they know exactly what they want done. We don’t go back and forth with questions that have been asked a million times before. Why you ask I could say this, well I have instituted a better way of communicating with my clients.

My first initial contact with my clients is a free consultation which is recorded; the client is informed of the consultation being recorded. From that a proposal, retainer or project agreement is prepared. One is email along with the recording to the client. Whatever is said or negotiated on in the free consultation is mentioned in the contract. If the client requires a second consultation before the signing of the contract,...

Before joining the forum, I purchased a lot of manuals and do it yourself book to find out info about this field of Virtual Assistant. This field incorporated a lot more application and computer awareness. It also was more flexible than just being a traditional Secretary. I went to classes for certain applications I never used, and I mastered them.

I graduated from college with an AA Degree, (1982) minored in Law and Legal Secretarial Science. When I started typing I used a manual typewriter--Royal (lets just say I was a teenage in high school in the 70's), then the IBM electric typewriter was next, then a Smith Coroner Word Processor, then finally my first computer in 1998 a Phionex...
