There are so many new ways of communicating these days!? How many of you have completely eliminated your “land-lines” and have gone totally wireless? We’ve done this in our home, due to the fact my husband and I both have cell phones, and we don’t feel a need for a separate house phone. I guess the only drawback to that was that my fax machine didn’t work; but who is using a traditional fax machine anymore? Most everyone gets their faxes over their computer or smartphone now anyway!!! Which brings up the matter of Skype. What is Skype anyway? Well, for the longest time, I really had no clue. So, of course, I googled it…. here is what I found. Wikipedia’s definition of Skype; Skype (pronounced /ˈskaɪp/) is a software application that allows users to make voice calls and chats over the Internet. Which is pretty cool, but I have to say, I still didn’t quite get the grasp of it all. Then I started looking over the internet for articles on what Skype was, and how it could help businesses! Especially businesses that work remotely, and OF COURSE its a crucial tool for Virtual Assistants!! Here’s a great article that I found from a fellow VA, called How to Use Skype in your Business. I’ve jumped on the Skype bandwagon now, and use it not only to keep in contact with other Skype users (FOR FREE!); but its also an invaluable tool that I use in communicating with my VA clients!
