Days in the Life of This VA.

Upon brainstorming for this blog I had several flashes of imagery cross my mind. One of a “blissful day” or a “pull out my hair day”. Another was a unique story that told of my day tracked to the “T” and yet another was a diary of my day filled with all the information and resources that crossed my path in a day. Many more came and went, but nothing seemed to bloom into finger movement and progression on my screen. So upon my predicament and as a philosopher, I began to wander in thoughts....
.... She positioned herself at her desk as she strained for thought. She couldn’t help but notice the head bopping sound that started penetrating her speakers. Instantaneously her urge to pop out of her chair and do a little jiggle was to much to resist. She moved like you would see your three year old do when they are so excited that they get the sensation of having to pee. Because today is like no other. Today is the first day of the ultimate freedom for her. Today she can breath a sigh of relief unlike any other. Today she has no corporate job!
No more answering to anybody because she was told to. No more days of lag where clipping split ends one by one with each passing second would be her highlight. No more pre 5 a.m. showers and late night filing to avoid city traffic. And no more cleaning up the mess of others. Nope, today is the day to be thankful for owning up to her true aspirations and cleaning up her own messes. Today marks the beginning of days full of interesting and thought provoking work. It means sleeping in until nine because last nights toss and turn session lasted two hours longer than normal. And today is the first day of the next phase of her life.
Grinning from ear to ear, she sits comfortably poised at her desk. As she loosens her eye lids over her eyeballs, she plants her feet flat on the floor, pulls her stomach in while her chest raises with the inhalation of fresh oxygen until her lungs fight to retract it. She ponders a moment before letting go of all the emotions she is experiencing. Blissfully opening her eyes she holds on to the presence of the day and the tingling of being. Today will be filled with productivity of many kinds and dreams in creation she will cherish with each breath...
Coming back to consciousness, I realized virtual assistant’s days are always productive and different. But each of us uniquely appreciates our situations also. So my conclusion is this; days in the life of this VA will always be filled with knowledge, growth and happiness, but will cease to go unappreciated again.

Nice post! I can tell that you really like to write and have a great way of describing sensations and feelings. Thanks for taking the time to share!
I think a lot of us are on that same page with you daily - truly appreciating the freedom of working from home, for ourselves. |

Your post brought back memories of my first day as a full-time virtual assistant. I felt giddy all over again!

Thank you Ladies! I do love to write Tess. The freedom is such a refreshing feeling. Once as a VA that I recognized this feeling it has now become my fuel and I use it to push forward so not to loose it. My motivation is clear and I was hoping to portray that a bit in this short blurb.
