Posted 07-09-2011 at 05:41 PM by savvyvirtuals
Do you find it challenging to make time for personal development?

During June, I decided to take some time for personal development and become more knowledgeable about Information Communication Technology (ICT) and the direction the region (the Caribbean) was moving in the area of information technology.

According to the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), the Caribbean ICT Roadshow had been developed to raise awareness within the public sector, the private sector, civil society and academia, of the innovative approaches possible and necessary for the effective use of ICTs in government, business and social development.

Superior Customer Service Helps You Win and Retain Clients

Posted 05-01-2011 at 12:37 AM by savvyvirtuals
Last week I urgently needed to get my hair styled in order to attend an event. My regular hair stylist was unavailable and because of a tight schedule, my backup stylist was unable to accommodate my request. I was in a turmoil and could not decide what to do with my hair. I finally opted to buy a wig. Off I went to the shops, with my sister, in search of the wig. We visited a few shops and could not find anything suitable.

As we walked along the street I noticed a walk-in salon where wigs were on display, and decided to look at them. I entered the salon and was warmly greeted by the Assistant. She retrieved the wig which had caught my attention and invited me to sit in the chair facing the mirror. She then fitted the wig, brushed...

Once I reached the point where I felt that I had enough of the corporate world, I excitedly began putting my thoughts together on establishing my business as a Virtual Assistant.

I would finally achieve the work-life balance I desired...the taste of freedom was sweet. I could now work from home and have the flexibility to do the things I really loved.

My vision was to surpass my clients expectations with administrative solutions that would free their time; so that they too, could attain their desired work-life balance.

As time went by, my dilema became clear --

Could I achieve the work-life balance I desired? What are my working hours? What about my exercise routines? When will be my...

Excellence is an Attitude

Posted 04-16-2011 at 08:40 PM by savvyvirtuals
What defines excellence? In our personal and professional life we seek to excel. We say to our customers that we are here to exceed their expectations, and to me that is what excellence is about.

It is that defining attitude towards accomplishing our tasks, assignments and goals. It is about the quality of our service, the level of our professionalism, our code of ethics, our attention to detail, our speech and (n)etiquette, the way we dignify others, the power of our presence (physical and cyber) and even the way we make our exit -when we need to.

It is
..........an Attitude.
