Just exactly how does a WAHM do it all? She doesn’t unless she’s Super Mom!!!

Are you Super Mom? I know I’m not. In fact at times I can be downright cranky and irritated. The fact that my laundry is piling up, or the kids left that blasted toy out in the middle of the hallway again and I of course tripped over it in the middle of the night when all the lights where off. Or I have had a long day working on a BIG project and possibly up most of the night the night before because that BIG project had a LOOMING deadline and now it’s time to fix dinner and start the evening routine with the kids and wouldn’t you know it I’m out of milk and… well geeze Louise who’s going to go to the store and pick up milk when dinner is still on the stove and guess what I’m a single mom. Okay, well I do have a teen driver in the house now I’ll just send him and maybe if he doesn’t get sidetracked while he is out he will get the milk back in time to add to that dish I’m making over there on the stove. Oh no, he’s not here that’s right I forgot he went to a friends. Okay, quick can’t leave the stove daughter is only 6 can’t let her go out alone. Call neighbor…
Okay you get my point. Sometimes life gets busy, downright hectic and no mom is truly a Super Mom yet ALL moms are Super Moms in my book. What? Isn’t that contradictory? Yes and no! No mom should feel like she has to be Super Mom, but all Moms do and they try and it is the love and the effort that they put into being a mom that makes them a Super Mom.
So here is my take on being a Super Mom. Take care of yourself mom! Remember if you are not taken care of it will not be long before you are not able to take care of anyone else. Here are a few things I like to do to take care of myself:
The first thing I like to do is talk to God. It helps me clear my head, put some perspective on my day/life, and reminds me that there is someone greater than me that can do ALL things and of all the blessings He has bestowed upon me.
Dad’s I know it seems like you get left out a lot, but you can do these things to.
I would love to hear what it is that you all do to take care of yourself so that you can be the best Super Mom (Dad) you can be! Tell me how you enjoy your ‘me time’ or give other suggestions of taking better care of yourself to make you better at being you!

- Candles, candles, candles (lots of candles), turn down the lights, hot water, bubbles, soft music, thick soft towel to lay your head on and take 30 minutes after you put the kids to bed to just relax.
- Candles, candles, candles (lots of candles), turn down the lights, soft music, find a comfortable position whether it is lying down or sitting preferably with your feet up. I mean come on you have worked those tired feet get them up. Now close your eyes and start off by taking a few deep breaths and then just concentrate on your breathing and nothing else. Don’t let those other thoughts creep in. Keep focusing on your breathing until those other thoughts start to fade away. Then start allowing your body to relax starting from your head and down to your toes. (You can buy a relaxation CD that will help you with this.)
- PJ’s, warm blanket, soft pillow, comfy spot on the couch or your favorite place to read and read that novel you have been putting off, but remember you have a long day tomorrow so don’t get so caught up in it that you stay up all night to finish it. Set yourself a timer for 30 or 45 minutes and then when it goes off. Put your book away and go to bed. You should be nice and relaxed and your mind has been taken off of all the stress of the day.
Dad’s I know it seems like you get left out a lot, but you can do these things to.
