Businss Reogranization 2010

Today, I want to talk about the business of business reorganization. Big corporations refer to business reorganization as "trimming the fat". As the term implies, an owner must find ways to cut costs without sacrificing the quality of services and/or products or the integrity of the organization. Sometimes, business reorganization can mean filing for Bankruptcy because a business may be having financial difficulties. However, when I talk about business reorganization, I'm thinking about improvement of the company, it's processes and procedures, strategies, and putting things in a better order and perspective.
A few weeks ago, a young man gave a testimony at church about coming to a crossroads in your life and how God is in the midst of the changes about to take place. It was so powerful, it brought me to tears and I had chill bumps up and down my arms. Part of my reaction was because of the testimony itself, but the other part was because my husband and I recently realized that we are at that point in our lives, personally, and in our respective businesses. Although we've had a good run individually, with regard to our businesses, we decided it was high time we brought our talents together under one umbrella in order to turnaround our business, be a greater blessing to our clients, and become a force to be reckoned with in the business world.
For the past 30 days, we put our heads together to plan a massive reorganization of our businesses. We decided upon the name and our business structure, where we would host our new website, and basically made a checklist of all we needed to do and then divided up the tasks.
The planning phase of our business reorganization has been intensive. The most important question on the table - what will stay and what will go? Then we ask ourselves, what can we add that uses both of our talents to the max? We reevaluated our existing business plans and decided to make very significant changes. It's been tough, to say the least, to say goodbye to our individual business identities (I applaud and appreciate my husband for making the biggest sacrifice), but I believe the reward will be so much greater. No pain, no gain, right?
So, we are setting new and realistic goals and aggressively charting our new path, taking the time to understand where our business is making money and then refocusing our company in these profit making areas. The tasks have been daunting and we're still working out the kinks, but I truly believe the foundation we're building will be solid and we, as a team, will be able to help others in a more phenomenal way than we ever have before!
