Hello there this is my first attempt at blogging on this forum. I hope you realise I am new at the blogging challenge but that is good because I can start the challenge to myself and any views here amongst friendly commentators... I have been having a few issues with my computer this year so missed out on January and February simply because out of 40 days my computer was not working for 25 of those days. In between facing up to those issues and spending more time than I would like to admit on fixing it I have learnt a little about twitter and how to share information to my Linkedin account and also link in my wordpress blog. Also I recently attended the AVAC conference in Melbourne and not only met awesome VAs but learnt a great deal. Thanks to those who organised and participated in this event. Whilst I have a website under construction I am sure that driving traffic to my blog will be more effective once that is completed.

End-of-year-Blog What I would do now had I known earlier [Post #5]

Well to start with every time I read a blog on VAF I am amazed by the quality of the writers. Especially when I read anything by RhondaHolscher I truly feel like I am experiencing what Rhonda is talking about; I learn a lot from your writing Rhonda, thank you!

I also love the way OrganizedAssistant writes especially about the corporate world and what / which parts are useful in a different world such as the 'virtual world' we are now members of.

Thank you as well Janine for organizing this fantastic area in which to learn and test the blogging waters. I for one can remember learning the way to blog here on VAF and the first time I found it very scary. To tell you the truth I still do find it scary because I want to write, however until I become used to this system and being able to post 'without thinking too hard about the rules' I will always be slow and post later than I really want to.

So my point today is that I love the opportunity to post here and believe that even though I have had many, many *issues* with my computer and/or laptop I have felt supported here by this awesome community, have learnt a lot and did I say a lot by Tess and her amazing and informative information and have felt very connected on Twitter and Facebook or my facebook business page by many on this forum.

I prefer my slow and steady approach to this site and to learning in general, especially about being a virtual assistant, and will continue to grab new information with my learning style by both hands. That is how I feel comfortable and I have found the *hard way* to rush learning equates to rushing headlong into potential mistakes in many areas and facets of life. One major potential mistake can be to trust everyone at face value, it is important to check information, knowledge and the genuine credentials of business associates.

Please continue to support the Blog Challenge area of VAF. I will be.

Funnily enough, whilst I write this there are floods up north in Queensland Australia, warm windy air in South Australia and here in northern Victoria, whilst on a pet friendly break, it is sunny, hot, and relaxing and reminds me of what I love in life. Some things I love are learning, travelling, meeting with people, enjoying connecting and all the above have been great motivators in my life.

Wishing you all a fantastic 2011!
