An Impact Like No Other (Post #4)

This month's VAF blogging challenge question is:
How has being a member of VAF made an impact on you and your business?
To put it simply, VAF is one of the reasons my business is here today. You see, early on in my search for independence (ie: becoming an entrepreneur), I stumbled upon Virtual Assistant Forums and several other Virtual Assistant forums as well. The VAF stood out to me because not only was it is a forum, it felt more like a community rather than a place to just post questions and look for answers.
Community is important to me. When I first arrived here at the VAF, I was a little scared, very excited and very wet behind the ears. What made an impact on me the most, was the fact that I knew I wouldn't be judged for my questions; ever. There was never any fear of being told I was too new or needed to do more research. I would get great responses to my questions and I would get support too. The support was something I think I really needed way back when, before I could stand on my own, before I even knew what big girl boots were (a term I first read about here on the forums, by the way ).
When you are starting out on a new adventure, especially one that involves starting a new business, support is very important. While I did (and still do) have the support of my family and friends, the Virtual Assistant Forums was (and still is) a beacon of light that shines brightly in the distance.
Anytime I need a helping hand, either in the form of an answer to a question or a mere shout out from someone saying "you can do it", I follow that beacon of light that always leads me back here, to the Virtual Assistant Forums.
Virtual Assistant Forums has made an impact not only on my business, but on me as a person too. Providing support when I need it the most and continuing to be a driving force not only for my business, but many other Virtual Assistant businesses as well.

I really enjoyed your post Darlene. I have been here for almost a month but I felt comfortable right away. This is due to people like you and many others you have been here a while and remember what it is like to start out. You have patience and wisdom that is very much needed.
