Been There, Done That

I recently came to the conclusion that returning to the "workforce" is not for me. I am not adverse to working, just not for someone other than myself. Long ago I dreamed of being self-employed and eventually my dream became reality. However, economic challenges and set-backs caused me to reconsider my entrepreneurial lifestyle and seek the "security" of a job.

Two months into it I realized that the of lure of security, fed by my fears of the unknown, stifled the person that I have become; independent, resourceful, confident, inquisitive, and resilient. No amount of presumed "security" could ever compensate me for giving up on myself, on my dream.

So here I am no longer "employed" and quite happy, thank you very much. I am determined to recapture my dream and create a successful virtual assistance business that will encompass all of who I am. What job could ever do that?

I guess my short stint back in the workforce was a good thing, it provided the clarity I needed as to what I truly want for myself. I gave it a shot and realized it's not for me.
