I just discovered this plugin last week and it's wonderful! Typically, WordPress or Fantastico will "tell" you when upgrades/updates are available for WordPress, but that also depends upon (I'm assuming) your hosting company keeping up with Fantastico and, in turn, Fantastico keeping up with the upgrades as well.

This plugin will automatically do all of the steps suggested by WordPress to upgrade WordPress for you. (It will even download a back up of your site info for you).

Jeanne, did you use the plugin to update? I tried updating a blog the other day and the Automatic Plugin code was bad. It kept giving me errors. I'm just curious if you (or anyone else) had the same trouble!

I updated quite a few from 2.33 (I think they were 2.33) to 2.51 and it worked like a dream.

The first time I ran it, I went through all the steps with it (you have to click each time it moves to the next step). Every other time I ran it, I used automated mode and it worked great every time.
