I've redone my website totally using WordPress and the Thesis theme, but have run into a little snag. Plus I have a couple of things I would like to change, but don't know how to go about it. I'm sure someone here has more expertise than I do.

I've created a new page called News that I want to use to feature my blog posts. I entered the first post over the weekend, and for some reason it's only showing a few lines and then [...] I've never had this happen before on blogs I've set up, and can't seem to figure this out. Any suggestions?

Now, for the changes. On the main pages of my website, I have an opt-in box and my Social Media links. For the News page, is it possible to move those down and put the list of categories for the blog posts above that just on this page? I hope that made sense.

Jeanette - The theme is set up to show the first little bit of your blog posts, and then the reader clicks a link to the single page that shows the full post (this is the permalink). This means that your home page is a collection of posts, showing snippets from each.

You can probably modify the page structure, though it would be tricky without knowledge of html.

If the items you mention are widgets in your sidebar, you may be able to customize the pages on which they show, though I don't remember ever seeing an option for re-arranging their order on a specific page ...

Mary - thanks for your tips. I checked some of the options in my theme and found the one to make the whole post appear. I also did a little playing around and added some widgets to another sidebar to make the categories and archives appear. Your tips got my brain working again!

If you are using the Thesis theme and purchased it from DIYthemes, their support forums on their site are absolutely fantastic and free for anyone who has purchased the theme.

My recommendation would be to ask your questions to the forum. I'm sure you'll get very detailed answers on what you need to do.
