Arrow How to take my blog to the next level
I am uncertain, even after hours of researching the Web for an answer. I have been a quiet blogger for probably a year and a half now. I love to write and I love to share. So, what better way to showcase what you have to offer than through a blog? My issue is I created it on my doteasy.com account to go along with my very basic website. Of course I would like to upgrade...especially the blog portion. What I am wondering is where should I move the blog in order to access the ability to set up RSS feeds, have more options for customization, and better formatting and so forth? I have looked at Wordpress.org and Wordpress.com. I have read article after article. I am just not sure which avenue to take to move forward. In two weeks I have had almost 800 hits but I have no way of knowing exactly what the statistics are for these numbers. Someone with experience wisdom please share. Thanks.
Oh here is my site: http://www.anotheru-manageurlife.com/

After a year on Wordpress.com, I finally moved my blog to my own site, through Wordpress.org. If you're not afraid of code, it's pretty easy. Then you have lots of options for themes, widgets, tracking, etc.
Go to the Wordpress.org site and see if their instructions make any sense to you.

Thank you for posting. I've had a client contact me about Doteasy but I've had no experience with it and couldn't see any examples of what their blogs looked like. I told her I wasn't comfortable about setting something up for her without seeing first examples of their blogs.

I have to agree that Wordpress on a paid hosted site is the way to go and the new version makes it extremely easy to add plugins and widgets without the need for coding. Templates - there are thousands of them out there.

I would be concerned about a business website and blog having branding of the webhost on it - especially if you're paying for that hosting, but perhaps that's what happens with sites that are low rate.

800 hits in 2 weeks is quite good but if your site is quite new then shifting it with your own domain can only mean that your visitors will still find you and hits can increase.

I use blogspot.com and I have no complaints at all.
