I try to blog twice a week. I read somewhere that posting more than that might overwhlem your readers (not sure if I buy this theory- I ghostwrite too so I can't post more than twice due to time constraint).

In my eyes it's consistancy. I do mine once a week but even if it's every other is better than nothing.

In my opinion, whether you decide to blog once a week, 3x a week or daily, consistency is key. If your audience knows you blog once a week (say every Wednesday) and you are writing articles that attract them, readers will come. :-) So, If I knew I could only blog once a week, I would just do that - it's better than not blogging at all, I think.

Of course, saying that and doing that are two different things! When I started blogging a year ago, my goal was 3x a week. That was doable and I enjoy writing. However, the last couple of months I've been lucky to blog once a week - especially recently, since my husband has been in and out of the hospital, lost his job, etc.

I blog a few times a week. I'm not that consistent about it but I try to blog at least twice per week. I've been blogging for a little while now and I've realized that you have to blog like you're talking to a friend. People become interested in what you have to say when they can relate.

I've had several people tell me that they enjoy reading my blog because it's like talking to an old friend. Goal achieved! I still write about what's happening in the VA industry but I save most of that for the articles I write. Most of my blogs are about the types of days I've had, the things I've realized, etc.

I'm not sure about WP but with Blogger you can create blog posts and have them post on specified days at specified times. Maybe you can write all of your posts for the week on one day and have them post on different days. It'll look like you're blogging a few times a week without really doing so.

I think the goal of doing it once a day is too much for both writer and follower.

I have a client (financial adviser) who has me included in his email list who get a notification every time there is an additiona to his blog - after a few days of multiple entries each day it became quite annoying.

It almost came across that he was spending more time blogging/tweeting etc than actually assisting clients with financial advice and planning.

What does this say about his business?

I have been suffering from "blogger block" lately. When I first started blogging, I had an awful lot to say, but now with trying to juggle so many things it's something I have to schedule. I'm trying to get to the point where I can use Friday's as my business building day and spend that time blogging, etc.

Limiting yourself to once a week or once a day is not a great idea. You want each post to be organic and add value to your blog. So post what you can when you can and if you think of a great topic while you're at work, e-mail or text yourself so you don't forget!

OfficeBuddy, I think you're right. The posts can be way overdone. Amber's got the ticket, probably.

If you're a fanatic on some subject, you might enjoy seeing multiple posts, though; so really the lesson is, don't sign up for any feed you're not passionately interested in!

I dont have a business blog yet, but I do have a personal blog. I post every single day, but I usually write 6-8 posts at a time and schedule them to post in the future. It takes about an hour to do the posts and then I'm set for the week.

Also, its so important to enjoy blogging. Don't just do it because you feel like you need to. It has to be fun for you!
