As a new VA, my main goal is getting my website up and running. As I still work a day job, I am having trouble finding time to do everything I need to do, so starting a blog will come after I get my website going. I will eventually link the two together. At my day job today I mentioned blogging. My boss said she is not interested because it takes too much time. She said she doesn't have two extra hours in each and every day to do a blog. (I personally think she isn't the smartest person in the world. She is missing a lot of great marketing opportunities.) My question for all the pros on this forum is - how often do you blog? Is it really necessary to blog every day? I know the more you blog the more people you will have see your blog, site, twitter, etc. But I don't know if I have enough information in my little head to blog every day. Is it really necessary? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Once a week.. not sure if its enough.

Thanks, Tamika. As I expected - once a week is not quite enough. But I would think once a day would be very stressful.

I do once a week and think that that's the most that is manageable for me. If I have extra time or know I have a busy time coming up I'll pre-write posts and set them to publish at a later date. And with blogging there's certainly not an expectation to write something long and profound every time...sometimes just a quick link to an informative article or free tool is enough.

I don't blog enough! I absolutely recommend blogging on a regular basis and this is always something I am struggling to find time to do. Weekly posting is probably a good goal.

I created my first blog last month using Word Press. I don't consider myself a writer, but I do know that it's a very useful Marketing tool. I need to set aside one day and write as many blogs as I can. Then I can space them out and post them weekly. Good luck!

My goal is to have a new blog post each day. I try to only write for my blog once or twice a week. So, I'd say I spend a total of about 2 hours a week blogging. I blog when I get ideas and they usually come in multiples. So, I write and plan them to post in the order I want them to show.

I've been trying for two a week. I'm still getting used to blogging and the specific writing style it requires - I'm used to writing fiction or a personal journal, but not an informative blog.

Once I get used to it I'm hoping to go up to 3-4 times a week, but for now I'm content.
