Default Help with Wordpress Plugin -- Pods
Hello,

I have a plug-in called Pods installed on a new Wordpress blog. It is a CMS plug-in. I am utilizing the plug-in on a few areas of my Wordpress site.

I am having a problem with the formatting of a pod I named guest.

When you go to the guest page on my site, the information from the pod is called and displayed in a list format.. This portion of the pod shows just the name of the guest. You then click on a guest's name and their information (bio, link to site, etc) appears on another page. The calling of the information works perfectly (yay!). My problem is the formatting on the second page that displays the guest's bio is totally off. The first page with just the list information displays perfectly. I have been working on getting this one thing perfect all week and have had zero success.

I need help! Either from a Wordpress whiz or PHP whiz (or both). Any ideas or input? Not sure if you can format within a PHP file. I am pretty much learning by doing at this point.

Thank you!

I'm not sure how much coding help I can be, but let me ask... what browser are you using that is displaying the formatting improperly?

If you need any help with test viewing, I have Firefox 2, Firefox 3, IE 6 and IE 7 that I can use to view. It may actually look different in different browsers which adds to new code fun...

Your WordPress template may need a "class" added to the CSS to alter the display of the output from new plugin. Codehead on the forum (Tess' husband) seems to be a master of Php and CSS so maybe he can help with any actual code suggestions. I beg my husband for code help and I think my tokens are used up with a new site I've been working on (also CMS)

Let me know if you'd like any viewing feedback, I'm happy to help if I can!

Hi Sharon,

I have been testing in Firefox, but your post reminded me to test in IE too (thank you). I still have the same problem, but in IE not only does the text shift to the left, but the entire container portion does too. So, I think it has something to do with the template, but no idea what!

If you or anyone else -- has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks!

Darlene,
Can you provide the link to the site so I can take a gander?

I figured it out! It was, of course, a minor detail. I was missing a very important <div id="posts"> in the detail template!

I have never customized a site in Wordpress before, so this is a learning process. So, I got that resolved and somehow messed up the display of the pod that looked good!

What a difference a day makes, that is for sure.

Glad you figured it out

And yes, I always forget to test in IE until I think I'm finished... only to realize I have hours of debugging to find out why it's not working in IE. I wish IE would go away!
