Google Docs Survey - embed surveys on your blog - Virtual Assistant Forums

Some of you might already know this but I just found this very cool feature of Google Docs that I thought I would share. You can create surveys and polls very quickly and then embed them on your blog or attach them to an email. To Create go to Google Docs and Click on New. In the dropdown you will see "Form". Click on that and follow the prompts. You can choose multiple choice, checkbox, scale, a different one for each question. To add a new question just go up to the top left hand corner and click "Add". To embed in your blog Go up to "More Actions" and click embed. Then just copy and paste into your blog or web page. In Wordpress you put it in the html tab. I tried to embed one in this post but it is not working in message - probably operator error, lol. If you go to www.virtuality-works.com you will see one I made up and put on my blog.

I have read about this, but not sure if it was here on the VAF or not. I didn't check it out until I saw your post, though. Thanks for sharing this!

I use this for my clients, I just with it was a little more customizable to their brand. I have never embedded on a site before though. Thanks for sharing this with us. Let us know how the survey goes.

I Love it, but I agree, I wish it was more customizable. I will let you know about the survey although I have to say I just figured out that much of wordpress to get as far as you see. Just got it up this week so doubt if I have anyone reading it yet!

Looks like a neat feature - I'm wondering if you are still using this and what your opinion is. Have you found any other options since then that you were able to customize?

oooh. Very cool. I use Docs all the time. I did start to do a little work with the forms, but embedding them into a website might be fun.

I create questionnaires, polls, surveys for clients - the form tool is very easy to use. I match as closely as possible to their brand or to the topic of the piece in the Google templates. I provide them the code which Google supplies - they embed on site.

I share the doc with the client so I can make updates and also perform other tasks their require with the captured data.

Yes, being more customizable would be great but the options are very usable as they are - love it.

I looked at this one, but in my tests I could respond multiple times from the same computer. I would be concerned that my results would be false.

Is there any way to limit responses?

I love this new feature. It is easy to keep up with the responses on Google Doc. I use the form on my blog for people to contact me (other than leaving comments). I am not so keen on posting my email address, which is why I am using form as an alternative for people to reach me but I didn't know that we can actually embed the form. Will need to try this when I have time to configure the site.
