Default Feedburner issues
Does anyone else use Feedburner and you are finding issues with it working properly?

I recently created an account for a client and installed the widget for people to use their email to subscribe to get updates from her blog. She really wants for people to be able to do this in addition to subscribing via a feed reader. She has a typepad blog which makes it fairly easy to add the box for subscriptions.

However, I've subscribed using two different email and I know she has other folk subscribe. You get the feed burner window that verifies you want it and then I've clicked through on the confirmation link in the email that I got and it tells me I'm subscribed.

But, when I got into her feedburner account, it shows 0 subscribers and she tells me that even though she added a blog post this morning, her friend tells her that she did not get an email update. Feedburner indicates that the feed is good when I pinged it...so I'm not sure what the problem is. After searching around a bit, I read that there have been numerous problems with Feedburner working correctly since Google bought it. I saw several posts about this same issue on Google's Groups for Help with Feedburner and it doesn't appear that anyone from Google goes into answer these questions or to provide help.

What other apps can be used for letting people sign up to get email updates about a blog? I'm checking on Feedblitz but they charge for their service based on the number of subscribers you have.

Any info or ideas about what's going on would be helpful.

I've been thinking Feedburner is kinda wonky. Just Googled 'RSS generation software,' and there are a number of options, free and easy, too, it looks like.

Thanks, Mary. I will do the same. I did check her Feedburner account today and it shows the subscribers now and she told me that an email update went out to her friend today. So it appears that there is at least a one day delay or that it took at least a day for Feedburner to completely process her feed. I'll keep an eye on it.

I too feel that there are issues since Google took over. Since I had the old code as a widget in wordpress, I had to transfer it to google and all is crazy then. I was told to leave the old code but sign into the google account to manage.

I think I too will be looking for another RSS service!
