Debs, any chance of pm-ing me the details of how to do this.

I am in the process of starting a blog but I want one that will be integrated with my business website, I have heard wonderful things about workpress and would like to use it as my blog.

Thanks in advance.

I've not used Blogspot, but I am very impressed with what can be accomplished via Wordpress quickly and efficiently.

The girls here directed me toward it and I am so impressed. I tinkered a bit, but you can get some lovely themes out of the box and installing and modifying themes is really easy. I use Dreamhost to host and I am extremely happy with the combo.

PM me if you have any questions, I'd love to help!

I use WordPress but still miss Blogger. Blogger's only downfall is the theme selection. Many people do not know you CAN have a Blogger Blog AND use your own domain. You can remove the NAV bar and then also add your own Favicon and at that point - your site is now your very own custom blog. You can find professional Blogger themes, it just takes a bit of time. WordPress has a lot of functionality but it has a slight learning curve since every bit of that functionality requires finding and installing a "plugin."

This is another area I had lots of questions for. Thanks to all of you who posted this great information! One thing..I wen to the WordPress.com website, but I couldn't find any info on pricing. I saw that there was a FREE version and then a PREMIUM version, but I could never find any exact pricing terms. I'm sure I just overlooked that info. Can someone please fill me in...? Thanks a bunch.

One are of confusion when referring to WordPress is whether you are referring to WordPress.com, or WordPress.org.

WordPress.com is where the WordPress software is used, and hosted by WordPress. You can have a free version, or a premium version that will allow you to edit SOME code (i.e. javascript plugins). You would end up with a site address that has wordpress.com in it, so you cannot use your own domain with this option. It is very easy to use though since once you sign up, it is ready to go.

WordPress.org is where you can download the WordPress software, then upload it to your own web host. With this solution, the WordPress software is still free, but you would need to pay for hosting with a web host of your choice. This solution gives you the option to edit anything you like and adjust all of the code. It does take more work though so it depends on what you are comfortable with.

Hope this helps...

Right now I have a blogspot blogger and a link on my website but I was reading that its better to have your blog on your website. I have read an article saying bravenet journals (bravenet blogs) are banned by google? I dont know, but I didnt really like their blog so...

I prefer blogspot, it's so user-friendly and you can play around with it and not get lost in the process. I do also have wordpress however, it's kinda new and complicated for me though I am starting to learn about wordpress and how to play around in terms of blog posting, etc.

I have to agree. When I do blog I use Wordpress. It's pretty easy to use and I too have a link on my site to my wordpress blog.

I used to use Blogspot and converted over to Wordpress. Wordpress is awesome and I wish I would have made the leap sooner. It allows you the capability to customize more. It does take a little time to get used to but once you do you will be so happy you moved to Wordpress.
