as you know, my current clients currently work in the music industry (one of them is into chart/popular music, the other is into folk).
As I want my niche to be in music/design (and i'm going to start a new internet show in the new year as a dj!), I was thinking of a weekly post where I'd post a youtube clip of a song that I really like - but to make it completely separate from the biz side of things I'd categorize it (say for example Music) and only have posts on music on another page (and not show up on the front page blog).

Do you think this is suitable? and if you can do it on WP.com, how do you do it?

Well, I guess to answer your question, first I'd have to know what the purpose of the video clip would be. Just throwing up a clip of a song you like each week would be good for a personal blog, but unless it can provide some amount of value to the people reading the blog/your clients, I don't see how if would be useful.

And as far as having only certain posts happen on certain pages, I've got no clue. At least not with a free WP blog. That seems like a task for having separate blogs for separate purposes.

Hi Julia, I think as a general rule I agree with the previous poster... but if your goal is to write music reviews or do other similar ghostwriting for your clients - incorporating the videos along with some well-written content might be a good foundation for a portfolio of sorts.

If you really want to include samples of the kind of music you like in your business blog, just try to find a way to give it a professional angle.
