Hello All ...yes I'm back with more questions haha ....but I will say this before my questions, I have learned so much from this forum it's unreal ! Everything I thought I knew ...I really didn't. There is so much information to absorb ...so many great resources..and such great people to offer their expertise and help along the way for people like me ...full of who, what, when, why, and HOW in the world do I's ...LOL I can't thank you all enough for the help you have provided me on my learning adventure !

So with that said ...My questions are, If I were to assume that in some fashion using Facebook statuses, Threads on here, Myspacing etc. are in fact some form of Blogging, correct? If this is true, than I am not as lost in the blogging world as I thought. What would be the right topics for a Virtual Assistant to Blog about? Does it have to be aimed at the clients, or other up and coming VA's, can it take a personal direction? For a Blog to be successful, and gain the readers/followers I got the jist of Blog ideas such as, ask questions, having guests post, responding to something else on the web, having polls ...but about what ? I could really use some suggestions here ...so I can get my creative writing hat on, should I pick to do research on a topic and write my opinions ...what are the appropriate boundaries for blogging in a Virtual Assistant Business? How often do you update your blogs? How do you know what to blog about next?

I have searched the web, trying key word searches for what I am trying to understand about Blogging, but I just haven't found the answers I'm looking for. So in posting this thread, I am hoping that you all can again assist me in learning a little bit more.

Thanks so much for any advice, suggestions or ideas you may have on VA Blogging.

~ Sue

Hi Sue Nice to see you here again!

I will try your questions one at a time:

1. If I were to assume that in some fashion using Facebook statuses, Threads on here, Myspacing etc. are in fact some form of Blogging, correct? Not true. If this is true, than I am not as lost in the blogging world as I thought.

2. What would be the right topics for a Virtual Assistant to Blog about? You should be blogging about things that are helpful, interesting and insightful.

3. Does it have to be aimed at the clients, or other up and coming VA's, can it take a personal direction? Your blog should be aimed at your target market. If that is other VAs, then yes.

4. For a Blog to be successful, and gain the readers/followers I got the jist of Blog ideas such as, ask questions, having guests post, responding to something else on the web, having polls ...but about what ? You should do all of those things and they should be about what is pertinent to your business services that you offer and or are interested in.

5. Should I do research on a topic and write my opinions ...what are the appropriate boundaries for blogging in a Virtual Assistant Business? How often do you update your blogs? I believe the best approach to blogging is to first establish your blog as a business resource blog, this is just my opinion and you will find more as the days go on. Blogging is a good way to show off your expertise as well as gain followers of like minds. But, you have to be careful not to offend anyone else while doing it. You can do research on topics that are pertinent to your business services and use your research to form an opinion. But, again be careful not to offend others.

6. How do you know what to blog about next? I suggest becoming a member of the VAF group VAF Blogging Challenge I believe it will help to get you started in blogging as well as get those creative juices flowing.

I hope I have helped in some small way.
Best of luck!
Andrea~

Andrea ~

LoL Thanks ! Your answers were very helpful. I was beginning to get frustrated, and didn't know in which direction to head. I do appreciate the link you provided, I have signed up. I think that will be helpful, as the "Topic" to write about is given to me and I can just go with that. Coming up with your own topics that will hold the interest of someone else ...I'm sitting here going ..."Uh, duh..." lol I think once I get the hang of it and find my direction I should be good. I am the type of person who wants to understand and know everything before I attempt something with some trail and error along the way to test the waters.

Thanks again Andrea !

Andrea also if you wouldn't mind could you check out my web site and let me know what you think ( I know this is the wrong place to ask this but while I am asking questions and looking for input I need it on that as well lol)
