Default Blogger.com
Hello everyone,
I am new to blogging and have set up an account on blogger.com. Is there anyone else that has used this blogging site? I have only had 1 comment and there is no counter to see how many hits I have had. I am hoping that further reading on this forum will help to discover how to get my blog discovered.

Hi Helen
Blogger is a tough one - their system just isn't set up for good SEO. If you're not too invested in this blogging program I might recommend porting over to Word Press. Not only can you host the blog right on your domain [if you want] but there are tons of widgets, plugins and other goodies that are pretty easy to work with and install that will make your blog stand out to your visitors; And of course WP is already pretty well optimized, plus there are addons for that too

Either way, you can help get your blog indexed faster by submitting it to the search engines as well as to blog directories like www.bloggapedia.com.

Another way to help the engine spiders find your blog [and real people, which is even better!] is to comment on other people's blogs and link to your blog in the URL field. Of course, you'll want to leave valid comments on posts that truly interest you - but by doing so you'll make other readers curious about who you are and what you have to say on your own blog. AND it gives the search engines a link to follow to find you in the first place

Good luck with your blog!
