Hi all..... I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I'm so confused as to what to do. A blog or a website? or BOTH?! I installed wordpress tonite so I'd love to get that going........ I'm also playing around in Dreamweaver to set up a website.. that's slower going - but still going. LOL
I've also read some posts where folks have incorporated their blog/website together.... I LOVE that idea but not sure how to do that?
Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated.
OK I think I just made a major breakthrough. I'm very new to this, but I just realized on my wordpress that there's a PAGE option as well as the POST (blog) option!! I'm so excited about that!! LOL! So I understand now how the blog can be incorporated as a website as well!!
KAElliott.......... I really like what you did with your blog/website. I recently installed Wordpress (I love it!) and I'm attemting to put together something similar. I'm in the process of looking for themes. It's fun!
I have recently decided as well to do a website/blog combination, and think it's going to be very efficient. Especially with Wordpress, there are so many plug-ins you can use to give a blog the same (or better) functionality as a website. It's been a mission of mine lately to find a good way to keep a website/blog updated, integrate all the social media stuff into 1 easy way to keep it all updated, cut down on the email overload, etc. Any way I can find to do something only once is good!
Lisa........... very nice! I can't wait to be up and running. Do you find you get a lot of traffic? That's my biggest worry so far.
I just wrote a blog entry about this. I find I am constantly reassessing and adding to my strategy for driving traffic to my blog and website. Right now I am finding with a combination of Twitter and LinkedIn I have seen a big increase in traffic. In my blog I refer to it like a stool. Every social networking tool you add adds a leg to your stool. http://tinyurl.com/dllcg9

I just use WordPress as my website. WP is organized and easy to use, and there are some really great themes out there for businesses. Of course, I provide services to bloggers, so if I didn't use WP as my site...I'd be chastised I'm sure.
