Here are the minimum requirements for WordPress - I'm not sure if regular hosting at Yahoo meets the requirements http://wordpress.org/about/requirements/ , for instance, do they allow you to have a database?

You could always use WordPress.com to host your blog (or Google's Blogger) instead of having it onsite.

I assume it has the capabilty of hosting it since it will allow me to create it as my homepage. I don't want it as a homepage though I want it embedded on another page. I read the directions which told me to go to the file manager and copy the code for the blog I wanted then to fine the page I want to add it on and drop it in. The problem is, in file manager I can find the code and copy it...but when I go to the page I want to drop it in (in file manager) It won't let me pull up anything to edit.

Does that make sense?

I took a quick look at the Yahoo small biz plan and it looks like they DO allow for databases and PHP scripting, etc. all the good stuff you need to run a program like Wordpress on your domain - the size available for the database(s) is relative to the entire size of your hosting package though...so that's one thing to check on. But it should really be fine.

Hi Amanda, I missed your reply - I'm not sure I understand..and this may be a most obvious question, but you've already created the 'blog' page you want to use in your file manager, but it won't let you edit it?

Correct I have created the blog page and can find the code for it...but I want to create a page like the rates, services, contact us page. I want there to be one that says blog...then when you click on that if would take you to the blog.

So from my understanding reading yahoo help I need to find the code for the blog in file manager (I can do that) then I need to go back and find the page I want to add it on, click on edit and copy the code into it. Well I can't find where I can click on edit and copy the code.

I am willing to pm someone my user name and password so they can look at it then I can change my password later.

Hi Amanda,

Let us know how it goes. I have no experience with Yahoo's tools so I can't be of much help!

I guess maybe a good question for us to be asking is which blog program are you trying to add to your site? (Here's my disclaimer I have no experience with Yahoo's tools either, but I'm sure we can figure this out...)

There are actually 3 that can be added. wordpress, blogger, and yahoo 360 I have them all in my file management but can't seem to get any embedded in the page. I have emailed a friend who can probably help but haven't heard back from him. Hopefully he will get back to me today or tomorrow. Also want him to put the calculator on the rates page.

I finally gave in and called yahoo to get some help and was told at this time I could not add a blog to my webpage. Grrrr...so I created a blog page anyways and linked the actual blog.

Tell me what you think.

Only problem is each time I update the blog I have to update the website with the latest blog entry.
