Post Getting the most out of your articles

I get email classes from Chris Taylor and the following is about Article Marketing...thought it was a good read:

Here are general tips when using articles....

1. Always submit your article to EzineArticle and Isnare(using their submission service) as these are both well known authority article directories.

2. When possible, submit a single article to only 10 resources, themed sites, article directories.

3. Place different author bio's with different anchor text of links to make the linking look more natural.

4. Link to deep/2nd and 3rd tier pages in the authors bio for increased and well round SEO campaigns.

5. Research as many themed article sites to your industry and submit to these first rather than generic article directories.

6. Research and build a list of ezines that accept articles and submit each article to these.

7. Make sure that your articles are written well and are informative. The better the article, the more it will be picked up by authors.

Enjoy!

I wanted to add a suggestion that it's not necessarily wise to post your 'best' articles on sites other than your own, at least when it comes to SEO. An article is considered duplicate content as soon as it appears on a second website - and this literally waters down the effectiveness of your text, your keywords, etc.

Something to bear in mind when submitting articles.

I do think it can be useful in terms of getting others to pick up your content [it gets your name and voice around] and just in terms of getting people interested in you, establishing yourself as an expert, etc.

So, what you have is two types of articles, or three really - the ones you submit for the sake of branding, the ones you submit for SEO purposes, and the ones you keep on your own site. Personally, I'd recommend keeping the best of the best on your own site and/or in ezines and other publications that go out to a mailing list and/or ONLY on the best sites [ie - industry-related sites, high PR sites, sites with a lot of traffic and exposure etc.]
