Hi Sundi,
You know - I'm partial to professionally designed websites, but there are quite a few members who have used the free template systems at Microsoft Office Live and Homestead. I can't recommend either one, not having used them personally but I have seen quite a few that turned out really well and were done completely by the VAs themselves.
I always recommend to everyone who's willing to listen to learn HTML - it's a basic, easy language to learn and can be followed
via tutorials to help you build a simple site. In doing this you empower youself as a business owner to be able to grow and update your own website, not rely on others to update your site, and not be limited by the free template systems out there.
There are quite a few conversations in the General Website development section where people mention which programs they use and like for building their sites. That might be a good place to get more personal opinions about the template systems. That's also a great place to post a question about what other people are using if you want fresh answers and feedback.
Whatever you decide to do - take your time making the decision. Sometimes, it's better to have something grow slowly than toss something up that's not really worthy of you or your business persona.
