Default Re: Real Estate License & VA work
It's funny that this discussion came up again. About 2 weeks ago I finally made my decision to put my license in escrow. I had my license for 7 years and have always worked as an assistant never as an active agent and have only earned a commission on one transaction (my own home! lol)

Wouldn't you know it that as soon as I started the process to escrow my license I got 2 calls within 2 days with people asking me for realtor referrals! I've since changed my mind and am now putting my license in a referral company. I feel good about this because I'm technically a licensed agent (and have to keep up with education) but I'm not permitted to perform any licensing activities. I think it's the best of both for me and I'm glad it all worked out this way.

I asked a few agents how they would feel having a licensed VA work for them and they each said it wouldn't matter to them. But these are people who know me personally. I think it all depends on how comfortable YOU feel as you are the one to market yourself. If you don't see it as a conflict, new clients probably won't either.

I know it's a difficult decision to make but the answer will probably come to you if you give it some time. Good luck with whatever you decide!
