Oddly, it worked, yet it didn't work.
I got tons of hits to my site because of it. Had a few people contact me and mention it but not follow through.
Others, would email about how I was "crazy" or "creative".
In the end, I acquired 2 new clients in December who stumbled across the
PR and came to my site. Until then, they hadn't realized they needed someone like me, contacted me and signed contracts in January.
Funny part, the 2 clients actually know each other and work together in London (I'm in NY).
I also have the promise from client #2 that she is referring me to
all of
her clients who will definitely need me in the near future. I'm going to be one busy female by the end of the year. I already have 4 employees lined up for when I need the (physical) help.
Because they didn't sign contract till Jan they weren't eligible for the deal (although both mentioned they didn't care) but I plan on rewarding them both whenever a new client comes through them, just haven't decided how yet.
So even thought it didn't work as I planned, I think it worked very well. I got attention to my company & site and those who need me, found me.
