Here are a few tips online I found about how to create print ads. It's probably more for getting noticed in newspapers, but I would think the tips would be helpful to use as a rule for any print ad situation.

As for graphics, I would maybe stick to using a nice image of your logo. I don't think you'd want it to be too busy. Depending on how large the ad is and what you're logo is, you could put a smaller graphic in the corner or something. Maybe of someone sitting at a keyboard (clip art) so they see that and can get an immediate idea of what the ad is about, especially if you're logo doesn't scream VA.
And definitely make sure your contact info is on there.
