Red face Virtual Assistant Business Exit Plan
Recently I was fortunate to spend an entire evening with one of the supportive ladies on my advisory board. She is a small business owner too (see her business here - ill adviced if you are hungry ), which is why I asked her to be on my board. One of the things she asked me about was my exit plan. I was shocked! Exit? I'm still working on the entrance stage, why would I want to plan my exit? She said that when she went through the Kauffman Foundation's offerings for entrepreneurs one of the things they encouraged was developing an exit plan.

So, I was curious and did a little research. Although I found a blog post, Small Business Owners Lack Exit Strategy, which had some interesting info it didn't really answer my questions. Not that I've done any indepth search, I only googled, but there didn't seem to be much info out there and what was there applied to way bigger companies than what I have in mind. The stuff I did find was really old...1999 and earlier. Not that stuff that old isn't good at times, don't get me wrong.

So, now I'm turning to the population of VAF to get a reading on the "norm" for VA businesses.

How would an exit plan look for a VA? Do you have one? If you do, would you be willing to share it with me and the rest of us?

As a side note, you might find some good info in the Kauffman's eVenturing Entrepreneur's Resource Center.

Make it a great day!
