We have used mailing list many times in our business. Sometimes it was very successful, and sometimes not. The last mailing we did was about a year ago and produced nothing. I think that if you have a targeted audience you may fair better than doing a mass mailing. You may have more success if you send more than one letter in a series format and perhaps follow up with a phone call. Sometimes it is just a matter of getting your name out.
