I enjoyed reading your interview and have a few questions regarding Twitter/facebook types of social media. In talking about where to get started with social media, you say that it depends on what your goals are. Goals, hmm... As a person who doesn't really "get" social media, if a client were to ask me how he could utilize social media, I wouldn't know what to tell them. I do "get" LinkedIn, but I don't "get" facebook or Twitter. I use facebook for personal socializing and I have used Twitter, but to be honest, I find that most status updates and tweets from businesses are irrelevant to my interests, and there are so many of them that it can get annoying. Therefore, I wouldn't know where to begin making recommendations to my client. I'm hoping you can help me see this in a different way and perhaps point me to some resources that can help me effectively utilize these outlets in a way that people will find engaging.
