I will say that I have a friend that has been doing a lot of subcontract work and from that I have learned that it can be quite taxing sometimes. The comment I posted earlier in the discussion was that it is imperative that you do your due diligence and know who you are working with and get a clear understanding of what their expectations are and what you expect from them. None of her subcontracting situations have worked out and I am sure that can be attributed to various reasons - lack of planning, lack of research/understanding of the agreement, and most of all DESPERATION. Don't take a subcontract job SOLELY on the basis that you are desperate for work...it makes you more open to being taken advantage of. In the end, in my opinion, you are still working for someone else, which slightly defeats the purpose of owning your own business.
