Re: Is Subcontracting for You? Revisited
Awesome interview with Collette, Darlene. As a VA business owner, who is also a subcontractor for a few VA practices, I found this discussion quite interesting and informative.

Take for example the discussion on networking and marketing - without even knowing it up until the last few months, I was doing what was discussed. I've gained sub positions by implementing these - in fact two contacted me this last week as a result of me subbing for some other VA's and the word getting out that way, too. I am living proof that this does indeed help so much.

Also, rates. Always a source of confusion for subs. I have found that the advice in the interview was right on the "money." I would also add that in my experience a lot of VA's that sub out work seem to have their own subcontracting rates - and (a huge plus), those rates are sometimes at or above my normal non-sub rates.

Another point in the interview was about who is best suited for being a subcontractor. Collette's description of this was great. I've got to say that I fell into the coach and player areas - a good thing since I have my own VA business aside from being a subcontractor.

Oh! And non-disclosure and respecting the other VA's interests was super!

Okay. I could write a mini book about how great this interview was, so I'm going to finish up here by saying that anyone interested in subbing should really listen to this interview. Wonderful information!

Thank you both!
