What I'm repeating is that this thread is wonderful. Sometimes we get so narrow minded and don't realize the smallest details. As someone who is interested in subbing (I'm still doing my research on this industry and love it), I agree totally with buidling relationships, in all aspects. It's challenging to determine a person's personality through words that are typed on a forum, but to have some interaction is very important.
