I used Windows Movie Media but I did struggle with it a bit and lost my work a few times.

One tip...if you decide to use PowerPoint to create a slide show (another option) you can upload it to your LinkedIn profile in the application SlideShare. I wasn't able to do this using Windows Movie Media.
